Sighting Details

What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :

It was a silver metalic disc with red, blue and green lights above and below.I'd say it was about the size of 2 double decker buses. It was about 100 feet away from and hovering about 50 feet above us.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

It hovered in the one spot the whole time we saw it.The only movement was from the lights flashing on and off. We didn't see it go as we went to look for a camera to get a picture of it but by the time we came back it had gone.

Any additional comments :

It was a bright summery day with blue skies and lots of people were sunbathing out on a grassy area below our window. They said it was there for quite a while before we heard the fuss about it and looked out. The people told us that before we watched it it had landed on top of some garages across from where our house was before flying up and hovering where we saw it. We asked them where it had went, they said it took off vertically at great speed with no sound at all. I don't think anyone has reported it because i have been trying to find a report on this sighting for years with no luck.
