Sighting Details

What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :

Bright red light, perhaps 200-300 ft above ground, moving maybe 20-30mph ENE. No sound, very little breeze. No flashing lights, so not a plane or helicopter. Wrong colour for Chinese lantern. I don't pretend it was an alien, but I'm a senior scientist and I have no explanation whatsoever.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :
