What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :

Like a big orange star

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

It was absolutely staionary then changed to silver then went at a great speed in a direct line of 220degrees then vanished.

Any additional comments :

I first heard a very very high pitched frequency noise that caused me to go and look out of the window and listen to see if I could find out what was causing the noise, then straight away the orange caught my eye. It defininatley was not an airplane, helicopter or chinese lantern as I am used to seeing these.
