flattened ball of light moving across sky at steady speed

no just went smoothly across sky

at first thought it was a star or falling comet? but it seemed in control of movements steadily moving across from rt to left untill out of view, looked form upstairs window and still seen in sight for a min about the size of small plane colours white and amber burning bright light.
