Sighting Details

What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :

Orange glow similar to a sodium street lamp - it started to rise in the sky from behind some trees and buildings altho there was no noise - it rose into the sky no more than 10 or 15 degrees. At the point it rose it was directly south from my location and as it rose it then travelled east, all the time dipping and rising until after it had travelled about 20 degrees east it dipped out of sight. Strange thing was that it was all over in about 30 or 40 seconds - the way it rose then dipped then rose and it was clearly some miles away - very very weird experience

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

refer above - it moved quickly whether up and down or laterally - zero noise, the brightness remained constant throughout.

Any additional comments :

U reoirted it to police, they called back saying there was a search light display in the Reading (UK) area - well ive seen these displays regularly and theres always a beam. This was NOT something with a beam, there was no reflection in the clouds - as i said it was ORANGE same colour as a sodium street light - and the brightness was constant - brighter than the brightest star by x 10
