Sighting Details

What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :

The UFO was like a steady burning orange light which was slightly redder at the top. It was a round ball of light that moved in a steady manner over us with no sound.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

The UFO came in closer to us and seemed to slow over the top of us, it then moved quickly away and appeared to move upwards and grew smaller until disappearing. After this one had disappeared we saw a couple more higher up which disappeared. They then started to come from the opposite direction and we saw about eight one after the other. These were coming from the Runcorn/Speke direction. There was no sound at all even from the one that was close overhead.

We saw airplanes in the sky while watching these lights, it was obvious these were different from the orange lights.
