Sighting Details

What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :

Three distinctive bright orange, round shaped lights in the sky above us as we were driving on the A590 from Newby Bridge to Kendal, Cumbria, UK. Difficult to quantify the height and size but not a great distance from us; much higher than a street light but possibly higher than a pylon or radio mast. At first we thought they were 3 'orange-like' helicopters hovering fairly close over the A590. But there was no sound and they weren't travelling in any direction. Two were more distant than the third. These 2 looked orange flame-like. The third was closer to us and was round with what appeared like spokes inside the round orange object. We wondered if they were Chinese lanterns but they didn't move with the wind.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

No they appeared stationary. We first saw them from a distance as we drove along the A590, and drove past them. They were close to the road, to the right of the dual carriage way. They didn't move and unfortunately we didn't stop to observe them. There were other cars travelling on the dual carriage way in both directions at the time so I'm sure others would have seen them too.
