Sighting Details

What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :

round bright light, much like an aircraft landing light.(appeared to be 2000/3000 ft high)

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

appeared stationary for three or four minutes above sandy heath transmitter, then climbed vertically at terrific speed and was out of sight in 3 to 4 seconds

Any additional comments :

Being an aircraft enthusiast i watched this light keenly thinking it may be an F111 from nearby Alconbury (it was dusk) after some time i realised it appeared stationary, it then climbed vertically at terrific speed. The light remained the same as if the craft remained in the same attitude.What alarmed me was there was no noise from it.
