What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :
Just like an extremely bright star on a very clear night sky visibility was excellent. I was on board an oil tanker "British Skill", Had finished my watch came on deck could just about see the lit sky of a township on the coast line about 20 miles away and it was a nigh dead calm sea.
It moved across the sky very quickly but in large triangular patterns forming like eqilateral triangles no radial manoeuvres whatsoever,cutting back on itsself at 60 degrees all in the one movement distances of 20, 30, 40 miles in a second, as if mapping the sky

Any additional comments :
I watch the night sky on an occcasional basis have seen aircrft go across the sky, also seen numerous satellites go across but they all move in a straight trajectory or in the case of aircraft large radial turns. I have never seen anything similar, to this day, and I dont think the technology exists today that would compare to what I saw in 1962. PS the 3rd engr on the same watch also watched with me for ten minutes.
