Sighting Details

What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :

Series of 3 very bright white lights travelling together as one object. Intermittently gave off a shot of multi-coloured light

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

moved very quickly for about 3 minutes - I ran to get camera - came straight back and had disappeared

Any additional comments :

sky was very very clear with hardly any cloud and lots of moonlight. stars were visible but these lights stood out and moved very fast. The coloured light coming off it was like the aurora borealis and covered an area larger than the object - this was intermittent like it was sending out a large beam of light.
