Sighting Details
What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :
inverted cone with flat bottom. In binoculars could see a lower flat surface from which red light radiated upwards and a brighter yellow ball in the centre. Could see the whole object rotating and yellow ball in centre kept appearing and disappearing. Size like a Venus but in binoculars much better defined and size of half a sodium lamp at a distance of 50 meters.
Was rotating, and stood still for at least 10minutes. Then moved away quickly disappeared, didnt just blink out but faded as if moving away at speed. Appeared again in slightly different place after approx 5mins, stayed for a further 2 mins and disappeared for good. My wife also saw it and she said it was zigzagging about for a while. Id gone to get the binoculars.

A plane was moving slowly down the river dee at the time but was not near the object. It appeared to be in the direction of Broughton areospace plant near chester, but I was interested in astronomy as a younger person and knew it was not a plane or other astronomical object as I have spent many hours observing the sky with a variety of astronomical telescopes. Conditions were clear and cold with no moon. It was certainly out of the ordinary.
