What did the UFO look like, shape/size in relation to terrestrial objects/lights/colour :

Looked like a plane on fire - orange glowing object.

Did the UFO do any strange things like hover and then zoom off quickly :

Moving at consistent speed (slightly faster than a plane) in a straight line, before accelerating upwards at a 45 degree angle.

 

How long did you see the UFO for :

Any additional comments :

I was in my car and also viewed the object from a mile away, and it had moved a considerable distance, it was at this point that it accelerated at a 45 degree angle and vanished through the clouds. This was definately not a floating chinese lantern.
